Together We Built It, Together We Name It

Fall 2024 – Spring 2025
With the construction of the stage cover in October 2024, “Town Square” is one step closer to completion. With that, the time has come to choose a name for the space that has quickly become a natural gathering place and where the community will create memories together for years to come. Because together we built it, and together we will name it.
October 6, 2024 began the launch of the Naming Fundraiser where community members submitted name ideas for “Town Square” that were later narrowed down to the following:
- Green Valley Junction
- Magnolia Square
- Piccadilly Commons
These three names each represent a part of BV’s history and hold local significance. Voting is done through a cash or online donation and was open until May 1, 2025. Following May 1, the votes were counted and the winning name announced in the summer.
After weeks of community input and plenty of great ideas, the results are in! Out of our three finalists (listed above), Magnolia Square was the clear favorite. The name captures the charm and character of downtown Buena Vista, with a colorful and lively mural to be completed and make the name official.
