City Manager

Krystal M. Onaitis serves as the City Manager for the City of Buena Vista, overseeing the City’s daily operations and working with City Council to implement its vision and strategic priorities.

With more than 15 years of local government leadership experience, Onaitis previously served as Deputy County Administrator for Goochland County and City Manager for the City of Covington. She also held leadership positions with the City of Richmond, gaining extensive experience in local government administration, strategic planning, budgeting, organizational performance, and economic development.

As a Virginia native, Onaitis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University’s L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. She is committed to collaborative leadership, responsive local government, and building partnerships that support Buena Vista’s continued success.
