Voluntary Water Conservation
July 9, 2026
As our region continues to experience dry conditions, the City of Buena is asking residents and businesses to voluntarily conserve water whenever possible.
Our water system is continuing to operate normally, but taking small steps now can help protect our water supply and ensure it remains available for essential uses such as drinking water, sanitation, and fire protection.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to help conserve water by:
- Watering lawns and gardens during the early morning or evening to minimize evaporation.
- Reduce outdoor water use by sweeping driveways and sidewalks instead of using a hose.
- Conserve water indoors by fixing leaks, taking shorter showers, and only running dishwashers and washing machines with full loads.
- • Businesses are encouraged to limit outdoor watering and other non-essential water use whenever feasible.
These conservation efforts are voluntary at this time. The City will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if circumstances change.
The City of Buena Vista appreciates the community’s cooperation in helping conserve our shared water resources. Even small actions can make a meaningful difference in protecting our water supply.
