Join us on Saturday, July 4, 2026, as Buena Vista celebrates Independence Day and VA250, Virginia’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. From a patriotic morning ceremony to an evening of music, dancing, and fireworks, we hope you’ll join us for one or all of the day’s events.

US Flag Raising & Time Capsule Ceremony

Inspiration Hill/Double Decker Pavilion
Start the morning wit a patriotic ceremony honoring our country and those who have served. The program will include a flag raising, presentation of the colors, a 21-gun salute, patriotic music, a veteran testimony, and the opening of Buena Vista’s 1976 Time Capsule.
Free admission- Bring a lawn chair – Everyone is welcome
Concert & Community Dance
6:00pm – 9:00pm
Multi-Purpose Pavilion
The evening picks back up in the evening with live music from The Party Crashers Band. Bring your dancing shoes, gather your friends and family, and enjoy a fun evening together.

Children 16 & under: Free
Fireworks at Glen Maury Park
Cap off the evening with Buena Vista’s annual Independence Day fireworks display at Glen Maury Park. Find a spot, relax, and enjoy one of Buena Vista’s favorite traditions.
