Buena Vista to Hold First Pothole Blitz the Week of October 26
October 16, 2026
Buena Vista, Va (October, 2026) — The City of Buena Vista’s Public Works Department is preparing for a focused pothole repair effort during the week of October 26 and is asking residents to help identify areas that still need attention.
“Public Works is excited to begin its first official Pothole Blitz and will track all reports, locations addressed, and materials used to guide future operations,” said Public Works Director Michael Loudermilk. “We want to address as many remaining potholes as possible before colder weather sets in, and reports from the public will help us identify where repairs are still needed.”
“As City Manager, I am proud of the approach we are taking as a city on this effort and so many others as we work to become proactive rather than reactive,” said City Manager Krystal Onaitis.
As the City prepares for this effort, residents are encouraged to report potholes that may have been missed during the summer maintenance season. This effort will focus specifically on individual potholes, rather than general road wear, surface cracking, or requests to repave entire streets.

Residents can report potholes by calling Public Works at 540-261-1444 or submitting the City’s online Report and Issue form. Once a report is received, Public Works will evaluate the location and determine the most appropriate repair method. The department plans to make pothole repairs a primary focus during the week of October 26th.
Residents who have noticed potholes around Buena Vista are encouraged to report them ahead of the October 26 repair effort so Public Works can evaluate them and determine which repairs can be addressed during the scheduled work week.
