Applications for Tourism Event Sponsorship Opens April 1
LEXINGTON, Va. (March 30, 2026) – The Rockbridge Area Tourism Event Sponsorship Opportunity will open for requests on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. The Rockbridge Regional Tourism Board offers sponsorships for tourism events occurring in Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County on a biannual basis.
Sponsorship applicants must be organizing an event located within Lexington, Buena Vista, or Rockbridge County, Virginia and occurring between July 1 and December 31, 2026. Requests should not exceed $3,000 per event. Rockbridge Regional Tourism Board will award monies based on the strength of the application, how well it aligns with regional tourism goals and objectives, and the event’s potential to attract out-of-town visitors and generate overnight stays. A total of $10,000 is earmarked for distribution, though total disbursement is not guaranteed.
The window for completing an application for sponsorship is Wednesday, April 1 through Sunday, May 3, 2026. Awards will be announced on the week of May 25, and funds will be distributed during the month of June.
