Boards and Commissions
Boards, commissions, authorities, and committees serve as vital channels for citizen engagement, fostering participation and providing valuable perspectives, expertise, and collaborative strategies to address the multifaceted needs and interests of the community. These volunteer entities are comprised of both local entities dedicated to serving Buena Vista and regional entities committed to advancing the Rockbridge area and/or Shenandoah Valley. These diverse groups collaborate to support the growth and advancement of the community in various capacities.
Current Vacancies
There are currently no vacancies on City boards, commissions, or authorities.
However, the City of Buena Vista encourages residents who are interested in serving the community to submit an application so it can be kept on file for future openings. When vacancies occur, appointments are made by City Council.

Interested residents may apply by completing the Boards & Commissions Application and submitting it by email, mail, or in person.
Applications will be retained on file and reviewed when positions become available.
