Rockbridge County, Buena Vista, and Lexington TRIAD Receives Rising Star Award From Attorney General’s Office
October 16, 2026
Buena Vista, Va — The Rockbridge County, Buena Vista, and Lexington TRIAD was honored with the Rising Star Award on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the TRIAD Conference hosted by the Office of the Attorney General.
The award recognizes newer TRIADs that are already making a difference in their communities. The Attorney General’s office highlighted the group’s first event as a major success: a Senior Safety presentation at the Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS), led by Corporal Guttmann of the Buena Vista Police Department. Corporal Guttmann accepted the award on behalf of the TRIAD.
“This recognition reflects the work of the members of our SALT Council over the past year,” said Corporal Guttmann. “It shows that the efforts of our newly chartered program are being noticed across the Commonwealth. I’m grateful for the time, energy, and dedication our members have given to getting this program off the ground.”
TRIAD is a partnership between law enforcement, senior service providers, and community members working together to keep older adults safe and informed. The SALT Council of Rockbridge, Buena Vista and Lexington guides the local TRIAD’s work. We thank our SALT Council members, VPAS for hosting its first event, and the Office of the Attorney General’s Community Liaison, Lara Bussert, for their support.
Join us. Seniors, family members, caregivers, and community partners are welcome to get involved. Upcoming events will be announced on the Triad: Rockbridge, Buena Vista, & Lexington Facebook page.
